Patient Frog
A game made in about two and half hours for the 193rd TriJam: https://trijam.itch.io/
Controls:
Tap or Click anywhere on the screen to hop
You can either play in the browser or on your phone
If the game won't display in portrait on your mobile device just know that I tried to solve this issue for over an hour. No setting seems to display it correctly on my phone. It might be the device.
The Theme of the jam was Patience. One of the first things that came to my mind was a frog patiently waiting for lilypads to float in front of them so that they can hop onward. I figured this would be one of the few things manageable for me to design within 3 hours.
This game is more a test of patience than it is a game because a lot of the time these lilypads aren't sure which direction they want to go.

I love this. The immense delay between jumps, in my opinion, effectively dramatizes the frog's patience and it's hilarious. It's a solid 1-2 minute experience, which is totally what I'd expect from a game made in 3 hours. The quality of the art, however, exceeds that expectation.
Thank you so much! I was happy with what I accomplished in that amount of time
Thank you for playing! Yes, the art was all made in that timeframe except the cover. Maybe the jump timer could be decreased a bit.
Did you make all the art in the 3 hour timeframe?, if so- it's really impressive.
In terms of gameplay, I could certainly feel the theme of patience... in fact I think I felt it a little too much.
The idea of needing to wait for lilypads is good, but in my opinion the jump timer was a little too much waiting for me- I had a few times where some lilypads would sync up perfectly for like 2 or 3 hops at once but then I could only do one because of the delay.
