A game made in a little over a week for Clover Jam 4, a jam with a pixel art focus and the theme of:

-> Lost Signal <-

You will take control of a robotic woman named J-1RY, her friends call her Jiry, and blast various little monsters on her quest to find the adorable sheep girl, Phepi. She is what Jiry refers to as "her caretaker", the one that she allows to maintain her. And today Phepi went missing as she was making repairs to Jiry! When Jiry attempts to locate her via a transmitter, she isn't able to read Phepi's signal.

So it is your job as the player to scour the village and ask the natives for any information regarding Phepi's whereabouts along with Phepi's girlfriend, Talia, who urgently wants to find her as well. But your progress will be slowed numerous times by pesky monsters that are bothering the villagers.

My Commentary:

This game was initially inspired by a color palette created by retroadamshow which is named autumngb. I knew that I wanted to make a game that fit with the autumn season and when I found this palette I felt the need to make it in a style inspired by Gameboy games, but orange. Other key changes include the use of one extra color and a different aspect ratio. But I feel that I successfully captured a retro feel despite not strictly adhering to the Gameboy's limitations.

I love everything abut this game you did a good job with this one and all of your other games Fava Beans

Thank you so much! That's very nice to hear

I like the art style and how easy it is to get into the mechanics. The least is the amount of text, but that is a more personal question from someone who doesn't read much.

Awesome work.

I'm happy you liked it! There's a lot of text because writing is my favorite part of game development. But I also do put a focus on the art and gameplay so it's nice to hear when somebody likes it

final level was the most difficult, it was the only one i couldn't solve on the first try and had to do it around 7 time. nice game

Thanks! I had a feeling that one might be hard for some people. I'm thinking of adding a skip button in the update.

There's an invisible wall here. I like the shooting minigame. Nice presentation

Thanks for the compliments and for letting me know about the invisible wall! I looked into it and found that the wall there has a collision box twice the size of the sprite. I'll upload an update after the jam is over.

Nice short story. I really enjoyed playing.

Thanks! Making an enjoyable story is often my main focus
