The Game:
You will be taking control of a bow reminiscent of Cupid's that's loaded with arrows tipped with heart-shaped heads. With them, you will strike varying blocks to win over your chosen maiden. These blocks are different metaphors. Frozen blocks, for example, must be struck to free the encased heart block to represent "breaking the ice". Your biggest threat are the orange blocks marked with an "X" which represent saying the wrong thing. If they're allowed to fall to the bottom you will lose progress or just lose outright. A dreadful outcome indeed.
To win over the girl you must collect charm points. Red heart blocks count for 1 and topic blocks count for 2, when they're the topic your date is currently interested in. Keep an eye on the speech bubble.
The total amount of points you need to succeed in charming her is 100. This is a lot to be sure but sometimes opportunities to stack up points will just come flying at you. Especially when a yellow spark orb appears. Strike this and sparks will begin to fly between the two of you for a short while. During this period points are tripled.
Each girl has a different difficulty. Anika is easy mode, Chloe is normal mode, and Sphinx is hard. In accordance, their personalities escalate with the difficulty.
Now that's all I'll explain. Go get em' tiger.
My Commentary:
When I saw the theme "charm" my mind immediately went to romance. My brain is wired that way. The gameplay isn't as polished as I would've liked. Maybe if I hadn't spent so much time designing the girls... but I like how they turned out. I'm not sure if the girls I drew will appeal to most people though. I wanted them to be more unique than anything. If you have a favorite I'd love to know. Mine is Anika. I would die for her.
