This is a romantic tale of an unlikely pair, a goblin and an elf witch, made with RPG Maker MV for:

RPG Maker Themed Game Jam #4

You will play as a lil'l goblin girl named Kica who has just arrived at Cape Magicae Witch Academy two days ahead of classes to get settled in. For some moving in may take the full weekend, for Kica it takes just a minute. All she has to her name is a mushroom, a loaf of bread, and a single coin when she arrives. And yet, she's able to afford attending this prestigious academy thanks to an unsavory job the headmaster has lined up for her. A job that she thinks that only Kica can do.

Gameplay Tips: This is a game about witches, remember to use magic. Fights should generally be easy if you use spells and stock up on items. It's not meant to be a very hard game. The focus is on more so on the story, even combat is there to fuel the narrative in most cases. Also, all party members other than Bugaboo are temporary, so don't invest too many items in them.

Additional Commentary: This is my first time using RPG Maker. I enjoy writing and I figured it'd be a great engine to use to tell my stories. But I've put off learning it for a while. This jam was just the push I needed to get started. Turns out this engine is pretty easy to pick up. And after making this little project, I feel like I have a decent handle on it.

Normally, I'd only use art I made myself for my jam submissions, but there was too much to make. It took me like a week just to replace the icons. With the time I had, I was able to create custom characters and portraits, enemies, battle backgrounds, and UI. The environment and visual effects are all default ≧ ﹏ ≦
