A game made for

GMTK Game Jam 2023

THE THEME: Roles Reversed

My take: Reverse bullet- heaven mixed with bullet-hell action

In this game, you will take on the villain role. Not a willing villain though. Little Ina just wants to be left alone but adventurers keep raiding her home hoping to slay her for fat loot. Loot she worked hard for! What gives heroes the right to barge in and try to take it? Just because she's a demonic sorceress? Demons have rights too!

Ina doesn't normally choose violence but her hand has been forced and it's time to summon the horde.

The intention of this game was to flip the bullet-heaven genre (games like Vampire Survivors). I thought that might be an interesting take on the theme "Roles Reversed". And so I set out to make a game in which you're the cause of the hordes of enemies that blanket the screen. But before getting far in development, I realized that just summoning enemies might not be very engaging. At least in my opinion. I like to make fast-paced games. So I decided to make the summoner a controllable character in the field thus making it part bullet-hell too.

The balance could be improved and there are ways to cheese this if you have a lot of patience but I really didn't have much time to tweak things. And I can think of many places I could add polish. But I'm pretty satisfied with what I accomplished here in just a weekend and I hope you like it too.
