Lootable Mimic Asset Pack

This is a small asset pack made for the third Pixel Asset Pack Jam containing 6 mimic enemies, 12 loot icons, and 5 special effect animations.

For the most part, these are 32x32 sprites drawn in a cartoony style with bold black outlines. I figured that this would make them usable in several projects.

The Mimics

There are five mimics disguised as common lootable containers. They are the chest, strongbox, safe, sack, and backpack. With each, you will get a single frame of the container closed and unassuming looking. From there you'll decide if it's legit or not. For non-mimics there is a frame of the container opened with no eyeballs or teeth. For mimics, there are 3 frames; a squash, stretch, and passing frame. Put together the animation can be used as a revealing, attacking, or hoping/walking animation. I had a hurt-on-contact sort of enemy in mind. There is a single death frame for each of them as well. 

The sixth mimic is a coin that has 3 frames of spinning and 3 frames of opening its eye.

Visual Effects

There are 5 VFX animations: a blood splat, hit flash, coin explosion, money sign popup, and skull popup. The first 3 are meant to be used for the action of either looting a legit container or killing a mimic. The last 2 are meant to just be visual flare after one of the two actions is performed.

The Loot:

I drew 12 (9 shown)  generic items to act as loot both on a 32x32 canvas and a 16x16 canvas to make them more versatile. 32x32 versions of the sprites are tagged LG (large) and the 16x16 sprites are SM (small). In drawing them I did not intend for these images to be completely representational. The necklace is not a necklace, but rather jewelry as a whole. So if the player sees that icon when the container is looted maybe it could be earrings, a bracelet, etc. that they find. That is if you don't find another pack that expands the number of items you have at your disposal, which I recommend you do.
